Inspiration for car buyers all over the world. |

The science of engineering is responsible for a vast number of developments for humankind. Its effects permeate nearly all strands of society. Perhaps the most significant advancement has been in the sphere of travel. The creation of high-tech vehicles has meant that travelling great distances in a short space of time has become a reality. As a result the limits placed on humankind have been greatly reduced. The most popular form of travel is by the automobile. Today there are over a billion cars worldwide. Given the popularity of this mode of transport there are safety issues. This has led to the establishment of safety standards to ensure passenger security. Another form of providing passenger protection is through the use of Ireland for cheap cars The engineering technologies behind the development of the car combine the sophisticated with simple. The key technology at the heart of the car is the combustion engine. The combustion engine uses fuel-air mixture to release an incredible amount of energy, which is translated into movement through the mechanical components of an engine. (more...) The Costa del Sol is one of the fastest growing regions in all of Spain. It is located on the southern coast and includes a series of small towns that cater to international tourists. The region was once home to a number of small fishing villages, but developers have completely transformed the region over the past half century. Today, the Golden Mile, Costa del Sol is one of the world's premier tourist destinations. It is also still growing, which is why developers are desperately in need of qualified foreign workers. As you might expect, the most sought after employees are professionals like engineers.
Why would a foreign engineer come to the Costa del Sol? Engineering is a lucrative business, but its success does depend in a large part upon the health of the commercial and residential real estate market. And healthy is not a word we would use to describe the UK real estate market. (more...) One of the eternal questions in life, although maybe not on the scale of the meaning of life, has to be which is best – caravan or campervan? This subject can cause much heated discussion between devotees of one or the other and it is hard for them to look objectively at the facts. Owners of a Sprite caravan or any other make will be (naturally) firmly on the side of the caravans. The arguments for are that they can leave the car at their designated campsite to be able to explore the area more easily at their leisure. Caravans are also less expensive than campervans and cost less to run as campervans have to be taxed and insured.
Those in favour of the campervan side say that a campervan is far easier to handle as it can be difficult and bulky to tow a caravan and that it is far more flexible in its usage. (more...) In spite of the current weakness in the global auto market, becoming an automotive engineer is one of the most lucrative professions around. The average engineer is responsible for designing new cars and trucks. Of course, more often than not an automotive engineer works in a certain specialty area where he has experience. There are product engineers, development engineers and manufacturing engineers. Each of them has their own particular area of expertise. Product engineers design and test engines and other automotive components in order to ensure safety. Development engineers focus on the design issues and help coordinate different parts. And manufacturing engineers are responsible for the entire production process, from procurement of parts to final assembly. What does it take to become an automotive engineer? In short, a lot of hands-on experience and a degree. Since they are engineers, they are expected to have a strong background in mathematics and science. Technology also plays an important role in the business today. Computer assisted design (CAD) is an essential skill that engineers must master before they win a car. (more...) So, you have finally got your first car. If my experience was anything to go by, it may be a bit of an old banger, but – hey – it's yours! Anyway, you do not want a brand new car for your first one as it is likely to get at least a few scratches and bumps. So what do you need to do now? Car insurance is the first thing you need to sort out, of course. In fact, you should have thought of it when choosing the car as some cars command huge premiums; usually the impractical boy racer cars. So if you have bought yourself a solid and sensible run-around for your first car, you should have no problem with insuring it. Then there is the small matter of learning to drive. Hopefully you have some relative with the patience of a saint who is willing to go grey haired in a short space of time and teach you to drive. (more...) Engineering is a profession whose origins can be traced back thousands of years. And just as they were in ancient times, engineers are respected and well-compensated professionals today. In fact, according to a recent report, barristers, doctors, and engineers had the highest average salaries in the UK in 2009. Like the medical and legal professions, engineering is an enormous field that includes dozens of specialties. There are petroleum engineers, chemical engineers, electrical engineers, nuclear engineers, computer engineers, civil engineers, software engineers, and many, many more. They are all well paid because they have highly specialised and sought after skill sets. For all those young, aspiring engineers out there, you will be happy to know that the UK is home to three of the best engineering schools on earth. The University of Cambridge, Oxford University, and the Royal Academy of Engineering all have prestigious programs. Which should you choose if you are interested in engineering jobs Well, all of them are excellent schools. But according to a recent article by the Times Supplement, the University of Cambridge stands above the rest. The August Institution came in fourth on a list of top engineering programs. That's fourth in the world! (more...) Wherever you go around the world, there are a handful of professions that offer consistently high incomes. Science, technology, medicine and engineering are arguably the most lucrative fields on earth. In this article we will discuss an interesting and topical career — automotive engineering. Before you ask, the career is topical because the new car market has been on a rollercoaster ride for the past three years. First it fell into an historic 18-month slump before it was bailed out by a government-backed scrappage scheme. Then, after a full year of sales increases, the scheme was discontinued and the new car market fell into a precipitous decline in the summer months. What does this have to do with automotive engineering? As you might expect, engineers don't design Used Cars. If they did they'd be overjoyed because the used car market is running like a well-oiled machine. (more...) Some people want to buy a cheap car because that is all they can afford, and they are looking to get a loan although they have a small monthly income. That is one kind of cheap car loan. Others want to buy a great car but they want to save on the monthly payments by getting the best possible deal from a car finance firm. They are aware that sometimes the competition between the car loan firms is quite fierce and that good deals can be had, in spite of the ruling interest rates.
In both cases you are advised to shop around for car financing on the internet. The largest and most reputable car finance firms finance all kinds of cars, from the most modest right up to the grandest of brag limousines. (more...) Easy car finance means getting as much car for your money as your income will allow. It also means easy applications and dealing with staff who are pleasant and understand your queries and concerns. When economic times are tough you can get some great car deals. The dealerships are keen to make sales. They will do their best on price. By the same token the car finance companies will do their best to tailor a package that suits your needs. Often dealerships work closely with car finance firms. Do not be pressured into taking a loan from the first firm they mention. Usually they haul out the applications forms and before you know it you are contracted to the car finance firm for five years. (more...) You have found the car of your dreams. It is a piece of engineering genius. It is even better than suggested in the TV commercials. You want to sign the papers right away. But wait. Take a deep breath, walk out of the showroom, go home and sit down at the computer with a cup of coffee. You have seen the engineering end of the car. Now you must consider the business end. Find a car loan calculator online right away. That car will most likely drop in value the moment your drive it proudly off the showroom floor. All that will be left are car repayments for five years into the future. Make sure you can afford these payments or you might find yourself having to sell the vehicle at a loss. (more...) They are non-polluting and can run on electricity which is a renewable form of energy: for these two reasons alone, electric cars are worth considering as cars of the future. Hybrid vehicles use internal combustion engines as well as electricity, while purely electric cars run only on reserved electricity in the form of batteries. There are some pros and cons to electric cars as they stand today and these must be considered while discussing electric car technology. Firstly, let's consider the shortcomings of electric vehicles. These cars need to be charged often and deliver a short travelling distance in comparison. There is also a limit to the speeds that pure electric cars can achieve. So if you want to advertise with car magnets a little electric car would be ideal as people would notice them even as you drive by! (more...) If you are looking to buy a new or used car, there is now more choice than ever available on the forecourts. You can choose from many different types of car, everything from sporty little numbers to family run arounds to those used in a taxi centre. The key is to choose the best you can for your money, preferably one with a good brand name that has a history of solid engineering and good performance. Check on the internet if the brand or model is prone to product recalls or faults and make sure that you see the service history of that particular car.
It is tempting to buy that car that really catches your eye, but resist a purchase made on your heart, not on your head. Look at which car represents the best value for money and will last through years of use, not the one which you like the colour of best. (more...) Like them or loathe them, cars are a vital part of the way that we live our lives. Even though we may try to minimise their use as much as possible so as to save money and the environment, we are sometimes left with little choice.
For some people, they find that not owning a car is the best way. Of course, it is quite difficult to live totally without transport, and sometimes they may need to borrow a car. In these circumstances, some temporary car insurance cover is needed.
For other people, they may be given a company car, and need not worry about the running costs of it. This does have an effect on the level of tax that is paid though.
(more...) Cars have become a vital part of our lives, aiding with communication and transportation, and overall adding a convenience to our daily routines. However, when people travel abroad on holiday, relatively few people choose to hire this wonder of mechanical engineering.
This is a real shame, because by hiring a vehicle for a day, week or longer, one can get to see a side of a country which ordinary package tourists can not. Spain is a wonderful example of this.
The south of Spain is one of the most popular destinations in Europe, and yet people only see a small percentage of it. By using a company such as Malaga car hire , it is possible to leave the high-rise resorts behind and venture out into the countryside.
(more...) Having owned several Japanese cars and several non Japanese cars, I would have to say that the Japanese made cars win hands down every time in terms of reliability. From the moment you open your automatic garage doors and get out onto the fast lane, you know that the car will be reliable and as steady as a rock. In fact, I have now owned three types of one Japanese model over the last few years and I will probably buy one again when I next replace it. In all the years I have owned them, they have never once broken down and the only time they have seen the inside of a garage – apart from servicing – is when somebody bumped me. They literally run for years and I replaced each one, not because it was worn out, but because I fancied the newer model. I have every confidence that the Japanese car I am running now will still be running perfectly in another twenty years. (more...) In the case of automobiles, health insurance has been a fairly recent process as cars were only invented around one hundred years ago. This means that it is easy to trace and see the evolution of cars since they were first invented. Cars have come a long way in terms of technology and the ones we happily drive today are a world apart from those first cars in terms of features. We take things such as health insurance, airbags and central locking for granted; things that were not even thought of on the first cars.
In terms of fuel technology too, things have progressed rapidly over the last hundred years and we now have cars which use far less fuel such as the hybrid cars which use a mixture of petrol and self generating electricity. It is the older cars which use the most fuel and as they are phased out, we will see a new generation of much more economic vehicles. (more...)
